The first week I moved to San Francisco in 2014, an old Yashica J found me at a yard sale and it was love at first sight. I call it my lucky camera because it sparked in me a creative passion, confidence in my creative conviction, and helped me land a rent-controlled apartment!

 

I love the joy of a life spent shooting film. Buying the film specifically for an upcoming adventure, the magic in discovering a single moment worth capturing, the self-discipline and peace in knowing I only have one or two shots to get it right. Winding the film, and hearing the click when the shutter opens. I  bask in the mystery of not knowing what the picture will look like immediately, and relish in the anticipation of picking up my photos. It's a special thrill to get film back and look through the lens once again. 

 

All photos are shot on 35mm film most are unedited and shot with this Lucky Yashica J. I hope you'll find inspiration to take a walk with purpose, capturing the beauty of an ordinary day in your neighborhood or with your friends. Enjoy!
